You can definitely run Cisco Packet Tracer on a Mac using Windows. The professor’s concern doesn’t apply if you’re using the correct software version. Just make sure you’re installing it properly for Windows on your Mac.

Do you use a VM such as VMware Fusion, Parallels or VirtualBox, or are you using Bootcamp? I managed to launch Packet Tracer inside the virtual machine with Fusion. Bootcamp provides a more native Windows experience, which likely won’t cause any problems.

They replied to me, but Packet Tracer isn’t compatible with Windows on Mac. If I plan to enroll in any Cisco Networking Academy classes, I’ll need to purchase a second computer running Windows. The listed requirements for Packet Tracer are quite flexible, which means I can afford a budget laptop.
