Open your secondary storage device and follow these instructions: 1. Launch Registry Editor, searching for “Regedit” under All Programs. 2. Find the key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion. 3. Right-click on the value labeled ProgramFilesDir and update its default path to your desired installation folder. 4. It’s strongly advised against this approach. Many applications need installation on the C: drive, which could cause issues. The optimal method is to pick the installation folder directly during setup.

Buying an SSD for a boot drive without installing any software is a waste of money. The main advantage of an SSD is storing all your programs there so everything launches quickly and runs smoothly. If someone spent $80 to achieve a 30-second speedup, they’re making a huge mistake.
