You should probably install the AM4 backplate that came with your Thermalright AXP90-x47. Although the cooler can fit in either orientation, using the correct mounting method ensures proper installation and performance.

If the cooler is working well and temperatures are stable, you're all set. Are you using the standard model? Also, those images look quite small.

B660 is an Intel chip, not compatible with an AM4 backplate. If you meant an AMD B650, those boards don't have removable backplates, so it wouldn't work either.

The cooler I talked about is the ThermalRight model I mentioned earlier. I’ve added some better photos, and uploading from my phone was a bit challenging haha.

Ah yes, it was a typo, thanks. By backplate I mean the backplate that came with the cooler (it has an “x” shape), I wasn’t sure if using that on top of the non-removable socket backplate would cause problems long term because of extra pressure on spots that weren’t meant for that. I attached better pics in my post above
