I’m wondering if removing the 1650ax WiFi card and inserting it into your desktop M.2 slot would be a good idea. Will the M.2 slot detect the card?

Typically laptop M.2 cards follow the A or E button setup, whereas desktop boards only accept M.2 with M or B+M keys. Unless your system includes a M.2 A/E slot, you likely won't be able to use it.

It's a distinct M2 key, and the antennas must be recovered and positioned outside the case for optimal signal strength.
