The 25Mb/s link will work perfectly with a 5e cable.

Cat(whatever) refers to the physical cable itself, not the connector. It indicates the standards the cable meets, helping you identify the maximum data rate it can handle. Most Ethernet cables use an RJ45 connector at one end, making them compatible with any device that has an RJ45 port, regardless of the cable’s rating. The specifications of the cable determine its performance, and devices on either side must support the same maximum rate for proper communication. Supported speeds up to the 100-meter standard include Cat5 (100Mbps), Cat5e (1Gbps), Cat6 (up to ~55m at 10Gbps), and Cat6a (10Gbps).
