The laptop license is probably an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) license linked to the device, making it hard to transfer it to another machine.

Are you looking for full Windows discs or recovery discs? Purchasing a license key lets you get the installer or ISO image for free, I believe.

Back then, laptops usually came with complete installation media for Windows. The last time I purchased one, it only included standard factory recovery discs. As long as the license key aligns with the Windows version on those discs, it should function properly.
