I sensed it too. That feels really bad!

You can store Steam libraries on multiple drives, but you can't simply copy and paste them. The best method is to back up the games you wish to transfer, then choose a different drive during restoration.

Go to Steam settings, then Downloads, content libraries, add a new folder. This should function. You can copy and move the files into the new location; Steam might need to fix the installation but should now see them. I've moved games before successfully, so copying and pasting should work too.

I was ready to suggest this option. The only adjustment I’d make is that copying game files isn’t ideal for me. If your internet connection is reliable, it’s better to re-download the games to the desired drive. Once you create a new library folder on another drive, installing a game will prompt you to select that specific location.

No. Just create another library, copy/paste and then update the game. There is no risk and it's faster than downloading. I've done it plenty times.

I've handled this numerous times using a modified Skyrim. (Updating my mods is really time-consuming)

You don't have to worry about the complexity. Transfer the game from Steamapps to another location and link them together. Or leverage Steam's built-in settings as previously mentioned.
