My laptop costs roughly $1800 and features an i3-6100 CPU (LGA1151), a GTX 970M (MXM), a 256GB M.2 SSD (SATA only, two ports), a 2TB HDD with two 2.5" bays, 8GB RAM (one stick, supports up to 64GB across multiple sticks), and Windows 10 Pro. I plan to maintain it for at least seven or eight years, if not longer. My dad still uses his Core 2 Duo from 2008, and I prefer extending device life. Although his C2D model is quite slow now and the RAM is only 2GB, a Q6600 desktop with more than 8GB RAM might still suit me. My current setup includes an i7-4790K processor, HD 4600 graphics, 32GB RAM (maximum supported), 12TB storage plus likely additional space, a 256GB SSD, and I run games like Fortnite Forever and occasionally Team Fortress 2. I achieve around 200–300fps in Fortnite, but that’s due to low resolution settings—likely 720x480 or 960x600—and I’m using windowed mode so I can multitask on a 1080p display. (Yes, @Slick, when you’ve watched TF2 and chatted with me, I was watching you while I played. The slight delay of about 20 seconds makes it a bit tricky, though. I managed to track your SG in Barnblitz so I could redirect it. I’d also like to borrow your Pyrovision goggles.) I don’t have a second monitor yet.
