Hey everyone! As you can see from the title, I really enjoy the Far Cry universe. Since I’m eager to play Far Cry 6 and don’t have much money for better hardware, I’m curious if the game would run smoothly on my current setup before making a purchase. I’m okay with lower resolutions and scaling, just as long as I get around 30 FPS. I have an i5 processor and 8 GB of RAM.

It will operate, albeit somewhat imperfectly.

Yes, it should work. I’ll boot up and be able to use it as expected. Thanks for the details.

4GB of VRAM is the suggested baseline. Purchasing it might leave you unsatisfied, as you could struggle to play smoothly.

Ehh, not going to work like you think. The R7 250 is a 2GB GDDR3 card not 1GB GDDR5 it's from way before GDDR5 was a thing. It's a AAA title and not particularly well optimized at that. You wont even on the lowest settings get 30fps even at 720p. There are a couple of videos on youtube of people trying it out but it's not good at all. Going by this video it's not worth it at all, it's not even playable.

The essential specs listed by Ubisoft require at least a powerful GPU with 4GB of VRAM, likely around 1920x1080 resolution.

It could produce an issue and begin improperly.

Suggested specifications tend to be approximate, leaving some flexibility. You won't enjoy a strong performance with a card that's much weaker than the minimum recommended, especially if the game isn't willing to run.

Thanks for your reply! The R7 250 also comes with a 1 GB DDR5 variant, as I kept the case in case I needed to resell the card later. The box clearly states it has 1 GB of DDR5. Also, the link you shared is really helpful—I’ll look into it now!

I've faced a comparable situation with many triple A titles; typically they need only that amount of VRAM, especially when running at 1080p. Personally, I'm comfortable reducing resolution even further if it helps.
