I wondered if there are any experiences with splitting an SSD or HDD using both Windows 7 and 10, while keeping the OS installed. It’s possible to select which drive to boot and the partitioning should still function. If it works, I’d like to try it on my desktop computer.

You have the ability to run both Windows 8.1 and 10 side by side, so there’s no reason you shouldn’t try with Windows 7. I set up Windows 10 (preview) alongside Windows 8.1 and had the choice to pick which OS to boot into each time. Simply create a new partition and keep it blank—then install another operating system on that space.

Its fine I do, I did it with previous versions of windows and have a bunch of old test pc's.
