I have an HP Compaq 6005 Pro Microtower SFF with 4 GB DDR3 RAM. Can I install an 8GB DRR3 stick at 1600 MHz? I’m unsure if it’s worth spending 35 euros on something I won’t use. Also, I’m new to this stuff and just want to play TF2 and Minecraft with smoother performance. Any advice would be great!
The standard tower model works with normal configurations, though the SFF version seems to have restrictions. HP states it can't use 8GB DIMMs, and even with a 1600Mhz chip it will downclock to 1333Mhz. Adding another 4GB stick might be possible if a spare slot is available.
