I can't enable the Mac recovery mode. The original release was 10.7, and it continues to display an error when I try to reset it after entering my Apple ID.

Don't require an AppleID, Apple provides a direct download link: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT211683. To revert to version 10.13, you'd have to boot into recovery mode and reinstall 10.7, then upgrade through 10.10/11/12 and finally to 10.13 (which will only bring you back to Mountain Lion). I follow the same process with my mid-2012 MBP when restoring, but I begin from 10.8 and go up to 10.15.
