Hi everyone, I own a WD MyCloud Pro PR4100 and need to connect it directly to my laptop using an Ethernet cable instead of a router or switch. So far I haven’t managed to reach the MyCloud Web OS interface. Is this even doable, and if yes, what steps should I take? Thanks!

Connect it to the router for internet access. Or use the USB port, though I'm not sure if that works.

There’s nothing you can’t do. Since the PR4100 lacks a USB port, you’ll need an alternative method to connect it, such as using a network adapter or another device. Also, because your Wi-Fi is shared, consider securing your NAS with strong passwords and possibly a guest network for visitors.

Create a secure private connection between your NAS and your PC. This guide could assist you, or you might consider purchasing an affordable router yourself. https://community.wd.com/t/how-to-connec...r/177753/8
