recently i've heard that this board isn't suitable for overclocking. i'm worried i might be wasting my money on a liquid cooler.

They use low-quality MOSFETs on their budget boards, which makes them unreliable for overclocking. Also, since your motherboard doesn’t have a heat-sink for the MOSFETs, they’re not being cooled properly—this can lead to a disaster when trying to overclock an FX CPU. My suggestion? Add a fan directly beside your CPU in the area where the VRM is located. This will improve airflow and cooling. The Hyper 212 Evo would be a better choice for your setup. Good luck.

The mastererr points out issues with low-quality MOSFETs on budget boards, which affect overclocking performance. He notes the lack of a heat-sink on the MOSFETs and warns it could lead to disaster when boosting an FX CPU. His suggestion is to add a fan directly under the CPU area near the VRM. He also recommends the Hyper 212 Evo as a better alternative for your setup. Good luck!

That is a good combo, but if you can get good deal on FX 6300, I would get that CPU. It is very impressive for the money.
