All AMD A320 systems are secured. These boards also feature low-quality VRMs, making overclocking risky even with software adjustments. Consider using a B350 model, such as the Asrock AB350 Pro 4.

I don’t get the term VRM clearly. It might relate to VRM power delivery in your motherboard. Overclocking with software like Ryzen Master or AI Suite 3 depends on whether your system supports it and if your hardware is compatible. If your motherboard doesn’t have enough VRM capacity, it could limit overclocking regardless of the software.

In lower-end motherboards, this area typically lacks cooling via heatsinks or fans, causing significant heat buildup when running powerful Ryzen 5 and 7 processors, particularly during overvolting or overclocking. This usually activates a protection feature that limits CPU speed down to around 800MHz or causes the board to fail. You want to stick with the original BIOS settings. Since you reset the Ryzen Master and applied default optimization, it’s best to revert everything back to the factory defaults unless you have a specific reason to keep them changed.

Well, half an year later we’re waiting for you to provide us with an update, dude! What happened!? Accidentally and with testing purposes I’m in a possession of Prime A320M-K/CSM+Athlon 200GE. It suck, PCIe x16 is limited to x4, MVMe is limited to 1x due to Athlon limitation - it’s just obsolete, but good for browsing and Netflix Of course I had a peak in the CPU compatibility list in ASUS’ website and was really surprised to see official support for R9 105W!? Now I’m curious about the real and tested compatibility with gen2 Ryzen 9 3900 OEM (35W TDP). No fancy overclocks and boost for now. In case the performance is not enough I’ll definitely get better MoBo. Just plan to test the CPU + 32GB XMP3200 and a small NVMe SSD. But the question I have is: has anybody tried 65W R7/R9 on this entry-entry level board?

It functions well, stable and highly competitive in performance! The Ryzen 9 3900 OEM is an outstanding processor with a maximum TDP of 65W. With improved motherboard support, it could potentially outperform the stock clocks of the 3900XT. Interesting to note—some older BIOS versions might work with NVMe PCIe x4 Gen.4 on certain boards. Really pleased to have this setup!
