Recently my temperatures rose significantly on my Dell Optiplex 790 SFF due to the installation of an i5 2500 processor. I ended up purchasing a cooler, thinking it wouldn't affect the setup, but I didn't realize the mounting differences—my unit uses a screw mount while the cooler uses a push-tab design. I'm curious if it's possible to fit it in my Optiplex. Also, I have a 5-pin to 4-pin power adapter since Dell provides proprietary 5-pin power instead of the standard 4-pin.

It seems the original cooler had a plate on the back of the motherboard. Taking it off should allow the new cooler to fit properly. Good luck!

It seems the initial setup might have been a bit shaky. Make sure to thoroughly clean the CPU IHS before installing the new one.
