Dual boot is definitely possible. Just like switching between two Windows versions, you can do it. Usually, when they upgraded from 7 to 8, you had to enter your old keys and they would send you new ones for the new version. I believe the process will be quite similar—just fill out a form on their site with your 7, 8 or 8.1 keys, submit it, and they’ll email you a new key along with a download link for the ISO. Or they might release an upgrade app that checks everything automatically and gives you the key.
