It’s generally safe to remove your old Windows installation from the HDD if you’re using a fresh SSD and have a clean backup. Just ensure you back up important data first. To proceed, you’ll need to format the HDD, wipe it securely, and then reinstall Windows on the SSD.

Does it mean you’ll need to reinstall everything again? Because with Uplay it can take a long time.

The SSD included a cloning tool, which should let you move the operating system and applications if they’re manageable in size. For a clean setup, you’ll have to reinstall everything again.

It's perfectly secure; just use Disk Cleanup, pick "Clean up system files," and choose the right option.
