Yes, all previous patches and updates before Microsoft stopped supporting it should work. What error did you get?

I need to check it first. Both of us face the same issue with Windows Server 2008 R2.

Previous updates before January 14th, 2020 should function. Check for the latest issues. If needed, install the SHA-2 signing update first. This applies to versions up to January 14th, 2020. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topi...a4cde8e64f

The issue on Windows 7 SP1 is 80072EFE, but it appears resolved on Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1. Refer to the LinuxTips article for more details.

You can also obtain cumulative security update packs; the most recent one was released in January: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topi...cebcaa9ff5. Before downloading, make sure to install the prerequisites mentioned on that page first.

The Windows update I tried recently seems likely to be faulty.
