I discovered a Sapphire Nitro+ 8GB model of the rx580 priced at $150 Canadian this evening—it's only a few months old. I decided to grab it, thinking it could be a more effective choice than using a splitter and will make it simple to have separate display outputs.

It could function, though it's restricted by the RAM available in the IGPU when both APU and GPU are active simultaneously. This might not be a major concern, but it seems like he likely chose an RX 580 for better performance rather than a more affordable option.

As long as I can show 3–4 tabs at once in Internet Explorer on a single screen (yes, it must be IE), and have Netflix or VLC open on another device, that works for me. It’s a work computer in my shop—no gaming allowed.

Integrated GPUs function this way. With 8 GB of DRAM and 2 GB assigned to the APU’s iGPU, 6 GB stays available for the system. iGPUs rely on your computer’s DRAM allocation. This shouldn’t cause issues unless you’re using a splitter.
