I own a modified Skyrim version, but I’m not sure it’s standard. My arrows are hitting much higher than expected when I shoot, and some folks say it’s normal, though it feels off to me. I have a photo showing the crosshair matches my aim, at roughly the same distance, with the arrow striking high.

Do you have any bow modifications? Some of them might enhance aiming but aren't always ideal. Yes, the closer your target is, the more you need to aim in, just like in real life (same draw). (Or is that the mod that handles that for you?) You probably know how to fully retract the arrow before releasing it, so I won’t take your question personally.

Many claims suggest it was typical for the arrow to miss the crosshair, yet this seems inconsistent with what I remember.

This game seems to have some issues. What device are you playing on? And which type of platform are you using?

I don't believe the problem appeared even before I installed those mods. It seems to be a simple click-and-hold action. If that's the case, it was fully functional at maximum draw speed.

Check out the "proper aiming" mod on NexusMods for Skyrim. It adjusts how arrows behave so they land in the crosshair instead of the crosshair itself.

I'm considering it as a skeleton mod, but I'm not entirely sure... I'm worried about removing the mods since vanilla won't start now. I've gone too far already, lol. Is ENB this link? Skyrim Flora Overhaul Basic edition with Unique Grasses and Groundcovers - Natural and Landscape Enhancement
