I recently received the Hearthfire DLC and Dragonborn. I quickly set up the house in the background—probably Windstad Manor. After defeating Miraak, I got bored enough to adopt two kids. A day later, the courier arrives with a letter. It’s strange how it never leaves my screen. Is this a known issue? Or did I just get the only Hearthfire DLC where the courier is a bit of a techie? Even if it’s just small code changes and texture tweaks, I’m hesitant about letting the kids play outside. What if they cause damage? Will he really be safe? And since I started a discussion thread, maybe I should ask if anyone has experienced anything odd in games that shouldn’t happen.

Press the tilde key (~), click on him, then enter "disable" in the console without quotes.

Keep going as usual. After about three in-game days, he should respawn or move on. If you want to remove him now, open the console, click left-click on him, type "disable" then "enable" to reset him—this should make him shift his position. Also, have you applied any unofficial patches?

He has been here for over three days in-game. Even after I ran the disable command, he returned with a letter and stayed on again. I'm going to try some unofficial patches (I didn't expect them since the game is now running smoothly).

The updates aren't meant to improve gameplay smoothness, but to address most issues Bethesda left behind. You'll need several patches to install. Visit http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/19/ for more details. Look under "Complimentary Mods" – there are unofficial versions for each expansion. I didn’t use the high-res patch because it clashes with my other mods, like Skyrim HD and SMIM.

It improved the gameplay significantly with 7850s in Crossfire. Luckily I haven't seen any issues (except during the Mirak battle). I'll keep trying the updates.

In my Skyrim Dunmer world, they can't digest milk. No cheese wheels available

Yeah... about that... She's kind of... pretty low-key... But I'm sure I can sort it out.
