All these recent low-quality ports make things feel really sad. Back when I first got my PC, there were so many great games to enjoy. Now that I’ve finished them, do any good games still exist? Yes, a handful but not much. Not everyone can afford the cost to run poor ports at smooth speed. Still, some companies remain strong. Telltale <3 Game requirements today: And honestly, that’s just a lie.

It doesn't always work perfectly, but it still functions. And by the way, four 980s handle most tasks smoothly.

Yeah I think there is a good chance things will get better with dx12. It should in theroy mitigate the laziness of developers because things will be multi threaded much easier and run better on top of that?

This review seems overly optimistic given the hardware limitations. While it might function without issues, expect a much smoother experience on more capable systems.

It varies based on your definition of minimum. For me, it’s about 30 frames per second at the lowest settings. Most games should run smoothly at 20-30 fps. Having powerful hardware for the past five to six years lets me play at 60+ fps in ultra settings, so I really need at least 50 fps. That’s my personal threshold.

PC gaming is continuously improving. A game's optimization isn't the only factor affecting its performance on consoles.

It works perfectly at 270x, but I still don’t see it in 1080p. Overall, it feels much smoother than the other systems.

I won’t wager on it if they’re too unmotivated to secure a solid port. This doesn’t mean it won’t simplify things, but for developers who ignore PC gaming, it won’t matter.

The lowest settings brought the resolution down to 720p, though some areas dropped to 55fps. I understand it's only about 5 fps, but what's going on? It's frustrating—this game is still fun, but capped at around 30fps.

PC gaming has had it's fair share of issues the past couple of years, namely that the number of terrible AAA ports (as well as the level of terribleness) have vastly increased. We still do get a few good games every year though and we have a MASSIVE back catalogue of amazing titles that no one could possibly play through in a lifetime. Whether or not stuff will take a turn for the better I don't know (I'd like to believe that though), however I would not worry about it. (as long as Rockstar keeps releasing GTA for PC, and does a good job at it. Maybe without too many delays as well.)
