Sure thing! So basically, that's the standard way things work across all games. Unless you're referring to playing together on a single computer using a co-op or split-screen setup?

Most games need a single copy per player. You can keep one copy on one account and use it by multiple people, but you’d need to share a Steam account for that.

Play together with a family member. Just one person can join at a time. Log in on your friend’s PC using your account, then visit Steam, settings, family and sharing. You’ll be able to let that device use your games. Keep in mind he won’t be able to play while you’re doing it, and if you start playing he must stop within a set period.
