Are there any devices that secure your Ethernet cable in position to prevent it from slipping out of the back of your computer and losing your network connection? I searched thoroughly but didn’t find the right term—please double-check your keywords. Thank you for your patience.

It seems to be recurring issues, so consider replacing the Ethernet cable. Otherwise, you might just attempt to secure it more firmly.

RJ45 connectors include a built-in latch that ensures proper function. If the latch fails or doesn't engage correctly, replace it with a higher-quality cable. Cheap Ethernet cables and RJ45 connectors often break or lose their click, making quality essential. EDIT: The cable should produce a clear "click" sound when inserted.

The wires should include a small clip at the finish to secure them.

Cables use clips to secure them. It’s more affordable to replace the cable than to purchase a device to keep it in position.

I see some missing details from your part. It seems the connector might be damaged after being used for a few months, and you're wondering if it can be repaired or if you should replace it. You're also asking about tools needed for wiring, whether the cable and connector match in size and speed, and if Ethernet connectors are uniform. Let me know and I’ll help clarify.

It's wiser to purchase a fresh cable featuring a working terminal. With the right tool, you can install a new RJ-45 terminal and resolve the problem, though not everyone may own one easily accessible.

Connectors can be purchased separately and rewired, though an RJ45 crimping tool is required. For a single purchase, costs often balance between buying the cable and connectors since you usually can't buy just one connector. Ensure compatibility by matching the standard—most cables follow TIA-568B, but some use TIA-568A, so verify the cable specifications.

I checked the cable and reviewed the TIA 568A configuration. Appreciate the assistance!
