Hey there! I've been diving into War Thunder lately and thought about other combat flight experiences. You might enjoy H.A.W.X 2 and Ace Combat Assault Horizon—they’re not traditional flight sims but still fun. If you're looking for more depth, consider games like Sky Strike: Modern Warfare II or Battlefield 2042. Let me know if you want more suggestions!

The cliffs of Dover or 1946? Or maybe both are connected?

I'll look into those two options—both are around $10 each. For "Wings of Prey," it sounds like a compelling read worth checking. As for other recommendations, there are some great titles you might enjoy while you're browsing.

Between that and Star Citizen, I might just have to stay in a cardboard box soon — lol

DCS features intense cliff scenes and A-10 is considered extremely challenging.

DCS series Rise of Flight. There is a free MP version on their website. http://www.riseofflight.com There's of course Arma 2 and 3. it's more dedicated to land forces and Arma 2 has way more vehicles then 3. flight models are not realistic but the flight model from Take on Helicopters will be made available for Arma 3 soon. Take On Helicopters has the "Take on Hinds" DLC.

For those seeking flight simulators, Battlestations: Pacific on Steam is a solid choice. Although it's quite outdated, this lack of players makes it affordable and the solo experience rewarding. You'll also have the ability to command ships and submarines, offering plenty of activities and good value for your money.
