I had the worst situation ever—losing most of my data and spending a lot of time on a faulty Windows 7 setup that could have been avoided. Now I’m thinking about getting bigger drives to store files either on my PC or on another networked machine for easier access. I’m looking for reliable backup solutions that can copy data to network locations, like Western Digital My Book Live or another computer with a shared drive. It doesn’t have to be free, though I’d prefer something affordable. I’m not too keen on cloud backups since I already use a lot of local storage. EDIT: Are WD’s SmartWare Pro worth the price around $20?
