I've been exploring mesh networking lately because my Ethernet extender isn't performing well. I usually see low ping in games but experience poor download speeds, dropping from 200-300Mbps to just 10-50Mbps. I'm curious if mesh systems could help improve this. I found a specific guide here: https://a.co/d/28xIdfL

The mesh network only functions properly when devices are linked together. If you think the system will automatically boost Wi-Fi signals between devices, it’s likely to perform poorly. I don’t know your current configuration, but unless your setup includes an Ethernet extender or the extender is connected to the router, speeds will be much slower.

Mesh offers benefits but comes with constraints. Each time your Wi-Fi signal moves between devices, latency increases. The optimal solution is using several hardwired access points connected to a switch. I recognize this may not be feasible without wiring options.
