Hey, you're looking for a PC right now for your university. Since you can't wait for the new NVIDIA mid-range GPUs, you need a CPU with an integrated GPU. Given your situation, the Intel Core i9-10400 is a solid choice. It meets your needs without requiring gaming time. Let me know if you'd like more options! Thanks.

I don't have a budget, but I can help you manage or plan one effectively. What would you like to do with your budget?

The iGPU from AMD doesn't have a real substitute right now until their Zen 2 APUs arrive. It's not a bad CPU at all—just a good option if you can find it for a lower price than the 3600.

Micro Center offers it for $140 when paired with a suitable motherboard—a great deal. Performance is roughly comparable to a 3600, potentially quicker in games, and includes an iGPU as backup. Additionally, having the iGPU lets you run budget mining rigs like the 1060, 1070, and 1080 models that typically cost $100–200 but require a pass-through setup.

The amount I use isn't in dollars, so it might differ.

10400 is roughly 20 dollars lower than 3600. However, a 10400 board should cost about 20 dollars higher, which suggests they might be similar in price.

The most affordable H310 board price seems higher than the lowest B450 model cost. That seems unusual.

The i5-10400 is very similar to an i7-8700. If AMD had included an all-in-one APU in their main products, they would have been stronger. The latest Ryzen models with six cores or more don’t come with an integrated graphics unit unless you opt for the lower-end lineup. The Intel UHD 630 supports 720p to 900p gaming; I used it because my motherboard was bad and it couldn’t recognize any PCIe graphics. I could play games like Overwatch, CSGO, and TF2 without too much trouble. For recording purposes, use Intel QuickSync.
