I'm assembling a PC and unsure whether a X670E or X670 is enough. I won't be pushing the Ryzen 9 7950X to its limits, so high-end VRAM probably isn't necessary. My current setup: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/9NhKLs + AMD Radeon RX 7900XT. I compared the Gigabyte X670 Gaming X AX with the X670E Aorus Master and feel confident skipping extra features. Performance upgrades: up to 6600 MHz RAM (currently 6000), so extra RAM isn't needed. Better VRAM: I won't overclock, but future upgrades are still possible. PCIe 5.0 support: the RX 7900XTX is listed as PCIe 4.0, which may be too slow for next-gen chips. Extra features: No need for additional display ports or case fans beyond what I already have. Audio: standard settings should suffice; RGB effects won't help much. Connectivity: 2 PCIe 5.0 M2 slots instead of 1 would be ideal, but the X670E offers that. USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports are adequate for my needs. Price: about 200€ cheaper than alternatives. Thanks!
I believe investing in X670E isn't a good idea at the moment. Most 600 chipset boards should be upgraded within 2-3 years anyway.
