When the ONT supports Ethernet, a router may be sufficient for tasks like NAT and DHCP.

Currently, I use a Wi-Fi access point instead of a full router. The ONT or Optical Network Terminal acts as a media converter, providing Ethernet and/or coaxial connections.

The routers from Cox haven't worked well... I've faced a lot of issues with them, which is why I'm choosing to buy my own setup now.

Cox mainly offers Docsis Cable internet services, so most items on their site relate to cable connections. They typically provide cable modems and gateway devices that work with their network. I wasn’t aware they offered fiber-to-the-home either. Could you tell me the pricing details?
