Hello! You're still staying with your parents and using a standard router with built-in Wi-Fi. Since your connection isn't strong upstairs, you might want to boost performance closer to your PC. A Wi-Fi range extender connected via Ethernet can help. If you need something around $100, look for affordable options that offer good coverage and speed. Let me know if you want tips on setting it up!

I don't have access to your current ISP speed information. Please check your internet connection or contact your service provider for details.

@BiotechBen is inquiring about the pricing model of the ISP. Comparing 94 Mbps at a 100 Mbps rate versus 94 Mbps at a 1000 Mbps rate highlights significant differences. In my experience, using a wireless extender typically reduces internet speed by about half. Based on this, I’d wager you’re paying around 200 or 300 Mbps.

And @TylerD321 For a stable connection, consider using powerline or MoCA if you're paying for 100 symmetrical connections. You could pair it with a basic router such as the Trendnet AC1200 on Amazon for around $20.

If you're using a DOCSIS cable modem, your upload performance is typically much lower than your download speed. This difference will improve once cable providers adopt DOCSIS 4.0.
