Your MacBook Pro has a 128GB SSD, which is great for performance. Adding a 256GB SSD would definitely boost storage capacity. Running a full Windows installation alongside macOS should be possible, though you’ll need to ensure proper partitioning and enough free space. Dual booting should work if you configure it correctly. It will likely provide a smooth, fast experience rather than a sluggish one. Let me know if you need help with the setup!

It's unclear exactly, but it was due to SD cards that were somewhat erratic and slow.

It's a letdown. Perhaps improvements will appear in Windows 10. As for speed, it might be slower on Ubuntu.

I've tried using SD cards to start up from live mode with various operating systems on numerous devices; it seems to function properly.

I've tried using Windows 7 as a single host on an SD card connected to USB, but it didn't work. Other people agree this method won't function. It should work with Linux and the enterprise versions of Windows 8.
