Hey everyone, I was curious about the Warhammer 40K Dawn of War 2 Grandmasters Edition. It includes all the games and DLCs, priced at 14€. Do you think it’s worth it? Also, is multiplayer still functional? Compared to the original 40K games, I really enjoyed them and just wanted your thoughts.

Get it. It's a great game and frankly I play it more than any other game currently. Look up 'elite mod' as the multiplayer community moved to that after Relic ended support. There is a separate ladder, new balance, units, race, bug fixes, features, commentators, and monthly tournaments.

It seems the latest update is really appealing to me, especially since I enjoy the series. Unfortunately, the poll results suggest many prefer Borderlands 2 Goty over Dawn of War 2, making me feel uncertain. Do you think Borderlands 2 would offer a better long-term experience compared to Dawn of War 2 in terms of gameplay? I really like strategy games, so your thoughts would be appreciated!

It varies based on your preferred genre. DoW 2 leans toward an action RTS strategy format, while Borderlands focuses more on chaotic loot collection. I tried Borderlands 2 but found it lacks depth and strategic thinking, making it less engaging for me. On the multiplayer side of Borderlands, players tend to chase objectives without much narrative focus—just collecting items on map markers. DoW 2 offers three campaigns, providing significantly more single-player content compared to Borderlands. It includes multiplayer features like TLS, a casual arena mode for facing AI waves. Though its multiplayer isn't as widely played post-launch, the community remains active in the Elite mod. The multiplayer experience is limited to Retribution, with the original DoW 2 and Chaos Rising expansion reserved for single-player campaigns.

Sure, I understood. You were worried about Borderlands 2 and thought it was all about shooting without caring about anything else. You still picked DOW 2, right?

Sure, I'm still playing. If you're up for it, we can join together now and again.

The issue is that I'm on the other side of the globe. For some tips, try a 3v3 match to get started in multiplayer and join lobbies labeled "new/inexperienced/fun." The game doesn't require an extremely high skill level, but others expect you to understand the basics if you want to interact with them.
