I didn't plan to work on anything beyond 4K, at most 1080p.

If you require assistance with Sony Movie Studio, feel free to message me. I've been using Sony Vegas products for nearly nine years now.

Hi - I'm on the Lightworks team. I signed up to say that Lightworks is free to use, with the limitation that you can only export to Youtube at 720p. If you have a Pro license you can export in the full range of formats. You can carry out your editing using a Free license and purchase a one month license (ad hoc) for your exporting. Alternatively there's a 'Buy Outright' option (own version 12.x forever), in addition to the 'One Month' and 'One Year' options. Additionally there's Education license - 50% discount for students. These pricing plans were introduced to cover our costs for the Codec licensing (MediaConcept).. and to keep us in coffee. As for Comessey's comment - well.. you'll just have to ask Thelma Shoonmaker about that. Cheers

Thank you for your reply. I noticed this discussion has already been resolved. Usually we don't bring it back after a while, but I value your input.
