Considering the switch from 3000MHz to 3600MHz on your Ryzen 5 2600/Asrock B450M Steel Legend is worth it? Both are 16GB kits using duel channel. I intend to upgrade to a stronger CPU soon, though not right now. I checked Reddit, but opinions seem mixed. TIA

Attempted to push it to 3600 MHz. It's possible you don't require additional RAM. For the CPU, I recommend waiting until the 12th generation (November 4th). The 5600X should function adequately without a motherboard upgrade.

Using a Ryzen 2000 usually caps performance around 3600MHz at best. Most often you'll hit around 3200MHz, which is the typical maximum. The gap between 3200MHz and 3600MHz is roughly five percent, and the shift from 3000 to 3200 is even tighter. I wouldn't consider upgrading unless a new CPU and motherboard arrive, particularly with DDR5 becoming more common.

It’s not a good use of your money. That’s a huge expense with minimal return. On paper, you might see a small gain, but it’s hardly noticeable. Just stick with what you already have. Pushing RAM beyond its limits is frustrating, especially on Ryzen processors.
