It’s helpful if it meets your performance expectations. Do you already have the chip? It offers poor value when compared to other CPUs. In most markets, the Ryzen 5 1600 AF or the Ryzen 5 2600 is more affordable and provides greater benefits.

You're checking if an upgrade is necessary since you suspect your CPU is outdated.

It depends on your use case. If you're playing games and your GPU outperforms a 1070, you might want to think about upgrading to a newer model.

Received a 1660 super now. Comparison shows it outperforms 1070 according to benchmarks.

It won't be a big deal if it's just around 1 fps, you should be okay for at least a year. Probably because the latest consoles have multiple cores and developers can use more power, which might let them run tougher games.

We deliver the gaming experience you desire. The age of the CPU doesn't matter—what matters is performance. Even older CPUs, including some I've used myself, can satisfy users.

If your hardware isn’t meeting your requirements, upgrading might be necessary. If your computer isn’t working as expected, consider an upgrade. It’s straightforward—my current model is a 4770K and it’s performing well so far, which is why I haven’t changed it yet.
