Sure, I appreciate the smooth feel of ChromeOS (similar to an iPhone, though I’m not a fan) and I’m not sure it can run most games except perhaps basic ones like mitosis.

Almost identical, but Ubuntu is also possible if you manage to access the BIOS.

It’s unclear why Ubuntu is needed for Chrome or online gaming, especially on a native operating system. He should be able to handle those tasks directly.

I mean beyond just digital games; Steam titles, Minecraft and others are available too. They probably put TF2 on Linux as well.

I'm not sure if I could manage MC, but it's simpler to switch tabs when a teacher passes and closes the game window.

I question whether TF2 runs smoothly at all. It could be light enough for most, but a chromebook won’t handle it well. Minecraft works fine.

Runescape or the classic version brings back fond memories. It seems OSRS likely uses Java, which could affect compatibility, but RS3 appears to have shifted away from it, making it potentially playable now.
