I recently changed my GPU to GTX 950 with 2 GB, but kept my Intel Core i7-4771 at 3.5 GHz. Playing CS:GO still causes frame drops, and the highest I can get is 180 FPS on 1920x1080 at low settings. What’s going wrong?

Update your drivers. Your FPS score has surpassed the maximum I think is acceptable (125).

It's completely typical. But consider refreshing your drivers as recommended by LoGiCalDrm. Are you experiencing issues with other games too?

Certainly! Here’s a revised version:

No, alternative games also function well.

After twelve years, Valve seems to have lost the ability to fine-tune their subpar engine, so heed what you're told.

Haha, I see your point! Instead of improving the engine, they’re introducing extra features that aren’t essential.

Absolutely, that's a great observation. It's clear to see how performance varies across different maps. While I can reach high scores in the 60s, I tend to stay around the 20s to 40s depending on the situation.
