Hello! If you can't start Windows and it prompts for a reinstall, trying to boot directly into the installation media might erase your current data. Installing Clover instead of Chimera could be a better choice since Clover is designed to work with older systems and may avoid some issues.

If you reinstall windows and there is an old windows installation already on your drive, the new windows will put all the old files in a folder called windows.old.

You won't delete your previous Windows setup until you start the fresh installation.

It would only restore what was lost, not delete anything else. If it truly required reinstalling, it would wipe the entire partition. I’m not sure it instructed a Windows reinstall; it usually guides you to recovery instead.

You'd share it here, and I can explain what might occur.

Same location? Not so. You'll need to reinstall the games. All files should be saved in a folder on your main drive, perhaps C:/Windows.old. If you're concerned, you can install Ubuntu on a USB stick, boot from it, and back up your important data. Note: Based on the picture, a fresh install isn't required—just insert your Windows disk and begin recovery.

It would attempt to fix itself. No files will be removed. Edit: Have you tried safe mode? What occurred now that it won't start, did you install something?
