I noticed on my in progress build the screws on the peerless assassin 120 se weren’t going down. It’s holding pretty well, but I wanna be 100% sure.

Are the springs positioned properly? That's meant for a specific purpose. If the cooler doesn't budge at all, it likely works well if assembled correctly.

They function to increase pressure across the entire cooler. The screws include a bottom-out design, limiting how much they can be tightened to avoid harming the board and CPU. The springs then compensate by applying additional force without causing damage.
