So i want to make some games boot faster by moving them to the SSD C disk. but i do not want to move others out from the D drive. (HDD) due to not wanting to lose saves in a future formating of the C drive. is this tricky/possible?
The games are designed to function exactly as intended, without any modifications.
You need to reinstall them on the drive, so choose the ones you want for your SSD. In Steam, it will prompt you when installing—just select your SSD, and it will create all the necessary files and install them there. Afterward, you can move the games into the Steam Apps folder in the SSD, though I’m not sure if that’s reliable.
You can organize Steam into several library folders, place some titles on one drive and others on another. After setting up multiple folders, you can transfer installed games between them. Using an SSD for gaming isn’t usually beneficial. Most applications run with a single thread, making that the main issue.
The main goal is to release the HD, which helps it operate more efficiently.
It makes a big difference in games—saving time by reducing load times. Previously, it took 8–10 seconds, but now it’s cut in half. Others still experience delays of 1–2 seconds. In Mad Max, the performance is even better, with faster cuts compared to other versions.
Sometimes I ignore what others say and don't follow their advice.
