Understanding Apple means recognizing they include the operating system by default. This makes it reasonable to connect the device's components with its software to some degree.

However, you control the physical components—it's different from the operating system, which you "rent"... so it seems unlikely they could impose a TOS on the hardware you purchased.

Running another operating system on a Mac might be better than keeping it, especially if you're considering switching to a more powerful Windows laptop.

Sometimes you need to switch to another operating system, yet you still want to stick with MacOS for most tasks. It also makes sense if you already own a Mac, since not everyone requires a better GPU.

I've been using four different operating systems on my MacBook Pro for years. My 13-inch model from late 2013 runs Linux environments like Ubuntu 16.04, KDE Neon, Manjaro, and ArchLinux with ease. Everything functions flawlessly. I recommend using rEFind as your bootloader instead of GRUB or the built-in Mac loader. This setup makes it simple to add additional OSes later. Right now I have OS X, Windows 10, KDE Neon, Manjaro, and ArchLinux all working smoothly under a customized rEFind interface.
