I looked for some titles that stood out but didn’t find OC benchmarks for Haswell CPUs. Linus might want to make a video comparing the Xeon-1231v3 and the OC i5-4690K, focusing on similar-priced options suited for different jobs. Is the 4690K really strong for gaming? I also found a review comparing an OC 4690K with a stock 4770K at regular speeds—seems like the 4690K performs well overall.

It's expected that two titles released in 2011 prioritize clockrate more than threading.

Most games remain from the past. Around five to ten AAA releases each year still attract players, even those who enjoy older titles. But if DX12 is embraced in two years and developers keep adding more threads, I expect 1231v3 and i7 processors will dominate. Of course, this depends on Intel not sticking to a single-core approach with only six or eight cores and refusing multithreading. Zen should still provide enough cores as well.

i5 definitely leads, but it's hard to locate other comparisons. Maybe we'll wait for dx12 to improve.

Which processor model are you currently using? A locked i5 should not cause any performance issues.
