Hello, I'm using a Gigabyte H110M DS2 +i5 6400 and considering switching to an MSI Z170A Krait. I need to replace the motherboard because of the price and I got it for $80 used. The main concern is whether I can upgrade without reinstalling Windows 10, since many programs are difficult to reinstall again after a fresh install.

I switched from an X99 to an X99 board a while back, just to check if my friend’s setup was okay. Windows 10 even managed to fix its registry by itself and worked perfectly.

It should be simple, just connect it to your MS account. Prepare a system rescue USB in case needed.
