Hi everyone. I'm back on the forum after a while, and I have a question about my MSI GV62 8RC laptop. It has an old integrated Nvidia GTX 1050 GPU that failed, so the whole thing is now non-functional. Can I replace that integrated part, or is it not an option at all? Thanks.

The issue is that you won't be able to find an upgrade compatible with your laptop. It's very tailored to fit and power requirements.
Tl: DR.
Sorry, not possible

If the computer doesn't power on, it could be unrelated to the graphics adapter. It's possible the laptop already has a built-in graphics adapter within the CPU, allowing it to boot even if the 1050 is faulty. In either scenario, a replacement board might be necessary. Have you attempted basic troubleshooting such as disconnecting the power source, removing the main battery, and waiting before reconnecting? Also, did you try reinserting the RAM?

Replacement motherboards cost around $200 or more, varying with the CPU or GPU you choose. A full replacement laptop from the same generation is approximately $500. The latest models can be found for about $700.
