The BIOS would start from the identical disk no matter which partitions were present. You’d see a display asking you to select an operating system.

They might both mention Windows 10, but you can check the details in the settings or system info to confirm.

They’ll likely mention Windows 10. I’ve installed two versions of Windows 8.1, but both displayed Windows 8.1. It might be possible to adjust the boot settings to show different names.

Avoid using Windows 10's setback feature. It’s the closest alternative to a clean install, keeping the same partition. You get the choice to retain your personal files.

You need a completely new setup since your current system is cluttered and unstable. The latest version hasn’t fixed the issues, and you’re facing BSODs due to a damaged Windows installation. A clean install is necessary.

Checking if it's correct doesn’t need action. The menu order might shift when you return. Some users report seeing it even after removing another OS, so you may need to clear boot entries or use a clean install.

After that, place it in the same directory and select the choice to maintain personal files. It will not retain installed mess but will preserve your files and folders that aren't Windows-specific or tied to your profile.

Typically, when setting up two windows on a single drive, the second installation appears as D: rather than C:.

However, I'm curious about your entire Steam library. Would you like to maintain the current setup to avoid needing to re-download everything?
