Hello, I hope you're doing well. I'm seeking guidance on upgrading an IBM Think Centre system in a cocktail arcade table to a DELL Optiplex 3090. I’m open to alternatives since the current unit is quite new and I don’t want to purchase another PC. I already have a modernized arcade table running on an older PC from 2011. The hard drive failed, but it got fixed to some extent. However, using Windows XP is very slow and not ideal. I’ve heard that the Optiplex 3090 can be swapped in, but I need a PS/2 to USB adapter for the iPAC, and there’s uncertainty about which one works with the model I have (possibly an older 2 player). Also, a VGA-to-displayport adapter is required since the Optiplex only supports DisplayPort.
The speaker in the cabinet uses a mono out connector on the motherboard, while the power button has its own power wires that seem mixed up with the black and yellow cables. In my new setup, the power button looks like a switch rather than having a direct connection. I’m unsure if there’s a way to connect the mono out cable from the cabinet to the computer’s power button or if an adapter is necessary.
Additionally, there’s another cable for the joysticks on the left side, connected via a Molex connector near the power button. Connecting this to the Optiplex 3090 seems complicated. I’m trying to figure out how to link the pink power wires (white in the photo) to the computer’s power supply and handle the audio and joystick connections.
