For instance, if you have a machine A linked through an OpenVPN connection and receive its IP address from the VPN server, but only one user account with credentials exists, then you might wonder how to distribute that VPN IP to another device. There could be methods to share the IP across multiple computers, though it depends on your setup and permissions.

Could we avoid adding another user on Computer B? Instead, check if increasing the session limit per account would help.

The university provided one device per student, but I have way too many computers to connect and disconnect.

Couldn't you arrange this across the entire network on the router? If you're in a dorm, just set the router to act like a switch (turn off DHCP and change its IP to something like 192.168.21.21) and configure OpenVPN using DD-WRT or similar? (I haven't tried it yet, so I'm unsure if OpenVPN would still function if you disable features like DHCP on the router or switch, but I did test it with a router serving as a switch and it worked well, even with its own Wi-Fi network)

Certain routers allow linking with OpenVPN VPNs. If yours does, your entire network can join it.
