The system runs on an AMD Athlon X4 640 with an HD 6850 and 4 GB RAM. Upgrading to 6 or 8 GB RAM should work for WoW.

According to the information on WoW's website, the suggested RAM capacity is just 4GB, and increasing it to 6GB would suffice.

WoW depends more on the CPU than any other component. Still, it generally works well on a reasonably equipped machine. The next major update, 'World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth,' suggests a stronger system, even suggesting 8 GB of RAM. That said, I’m not a regular player, so my perspective here might be limited.

Sure, it should work. But expect very low frame rates—especially intense during raids. The update will be released in August, which means performance might drop further then.

Sure thing! Just get the game in and check your performance. WoW should run smoothly on reasonable configurations, and you won’t have to spend any money to try it out.

It's okay if you don't plan on doing raids. Battlefields, dungeons, and arenas should work too. Note: I previously enjoyed raiding with a laptop equipped with a NVIDIA GT 650M, an i7-3360QM processor (likely quicker), and 8GB of DDR3 at 1600MHz RAM. You might be able to do it.

Your premium account remains functional even after membership expiration, provided you use characters ranked at or below level 20. Once characters hit level 20, they stop accumulating experience.
